Hi, I'm Cam.
I got my start in photography during COVID, alone in my apartment, taking a college class over Zoom. I found a Canon AE-1 film camera on Facebook Marketplace for about fifty bucks.
The class was supposed to include a darkroom, but COVID took that part, so we mailed our black-and-white film off to get developed. No screen, no do-overs. You shot the roll and waited to see what you got. It taught me to slow down and get it right in the camera, and that's still how I shoot today.
These days I work around Frederick and the DC area: couples, families, pets, and business owners who'd rather not look like a stock photo. Different people, same job every time. Catch the real moment and hand it back the way you'll remember it.

Here's the thing I keep coming back to: who doesn't love getting a great photo of themselves? You know the feeling. You see it and go, "oh wow, that's actually a really good photo of me." That little jolt of surprise. That's what I'm chasing, every time.
A photo isn't really about what the camera saw. Memories are personal. We all remember the same moment a little differently, in our own color and light. What stays with you isn't the exact scene; it's how it felt to be there. My job is to catch the real moment and bottle the feeling in it: the color, the warmth, the life. So when you look at the photo later, it takes you right back to how it felt.
